Administrative Office Technology


(Jackson County, Jefferson Davis and Perkinston Campuses )

The Administrative Office Technology curriculum is designed to give a broad overview of the entire office function; an opportunity to investigate the integration of systems, people, and technology; an exposure to career options available within the office involving the coordination of people, equipment, and resources as well as an opportunity to recognize the relationship between worker and supervisor; and a concentration of skills in a specific area.

This program leads to an Associate of Applied Science Degree and is preparatory for employment upon graduation from MGCCC. Where a transfer to a senior college or university is desired, a conference should be scheduled with a community college advisor for advisement.

All students completing a career or technical program must complete either the MS-CPAS (Mississippi Career Planning and Assessment System) or an MGCCC Board-approved Technical Attainment Assessment where applicable. See your advisor for further details.

In addition, the Administrative Office Technology program offers an additional concentration in Gaming. Administrative Office Technology Gaming Concentration

*Prior to enrollment in BOT 1113 , students will be required to key straight-copy material at a minimum of 35 GWPM, on a 5-minute timed writing with a maximum of 1 error per minute. Students who do not demonstrate this level of proficiency will be required to enroll in BOT 1013  .
