Business Management Technology Gaming Concentration

(Jefferson Davis Campus)

The Business Management Technology program provides training that leads to the development of comprehensive entrepreneurial skills necessary in private business or in the public or not-for-profit sectors emphasizing both domestic and foreign markets.  Software taught in this program includes the latest version of Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks.

The gaming management courses will focus on the unique characteristics of both the gaming and hospitality industries. These courses will allow students to learn entry-level skills relating to gaming operations and provide them with the knowledge and attitudes needed to be an effective professional in the gaming industry.

The gaming courses link to other programs that will lead to an Associate of Applied Science degree with a gaming concentration:  Administrative Office Technology, Accounting Technology, Business Management Technology, Hotel & Restaurant Management, Business and Marketing Management, Paralegal Technology, and Computer Networking Technology.  This degree is designed to help students seek employment in entry level or supervisory gaming positions. For those currently employed, these programs will provide professional growth and career mobility within the gaming industry.

Where a transfer to 4-year college or university is desired, a conference should be scheduled with a MGCCC advisor.

All students completing a career or technical program must complete either the MS-CPAS (Mississippi Career Planning and Assessment System) or an MGCCC Board- approved Technical Skills Attainment assessment where applicable. Students should see an advisor for further details.
