Heartsaver First Aid, CPR & AED

NON-CREDIT TRAINING

Course Description: The American Heart Association’s core Heartsaver classroom courses, for those with little or no medical training, include Heartsaver First Aid, Heartsaver CPR - AED and Heartsaver First Aid CPR - AED. Instructor-led courses teach participants critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) takes over. Depending on the course, participants learn how to recognize, respond to and treat a variety of first aid emergencies, perform CPR and use an AED in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest. These courses meet the requirements for most childcare centers, pools, and non-healthcare employers. Cost: $75 – can be paid at any MGCCC Business Office - Testing fees for the books and exam are included in course fee. (The MGCCC Non-Credit Refund Policy is on the Registration form).

  • Prerequisite: Student must be physically able to perform CPR and able to read and write for successful completion of the written and skills exams required for this course

Steps for admission into the program:

I.  Heartsaver First Aid, CPR & AED Application Process:

a)  Complete the MGCCC Registration Form for Non-Credit Healthcare Courses listing CPR – HS as the course name and include a listed course date of interest (can be found on the MGCCC Program of Study/Healthcare Program webpage or at any campus location.)

b)  Email or fax the form to the Continuing Education Coordinator located at the Tradition Campus (you must provide a valid email address on the registration form).

c)  Once you receive an email confirming registration with the date, time and location, you can pay the $75 course fee at any MGCCC campus business office.

d)  Enrollment is based on a first come first serve basis following submission of the:

1.  Non-credit Registration form
2.  Full course payment.

Note: On the scheduled class date, present the business office receipt to the Course Instructor for admission to the class.

e)  Within 7-14 business days, the CPR card will be made available electronically (sent to email provided).

Note: MGCCC reserves the right to substitute instructors, change class schedules, and cancel programs due to insufficient enrollment or unforeseen circumstances.
