3D Modeling and Design Technology

The 3D Modeling and Design Technology program of study is designed to provide instruction in all phases of design technology in order to prepare students for positions as designers or computer aided drafting technicians. Instruction includes computer aided design, architectural design, civil planning, 3D-modeling, and manufacturing. A combination of class work and laboratory experience is stressed.

Students who successfully complete a minimum of 30 semester hours in 3D Modeling and Design Technology courses may earn a career certificate. Students who successfully complete a minimum of 45 semester hours in 3D Modeling and Design Technology courses may earn a technical diploma. Successful completion of a minimum of 60 semester credit hours of course work in a 2-year program leads to an Associate of Applied Science.

Where a transfer to 4-year college or university is desired, a conference should be scheduled with a MGCCC advisor.

All students completing a career or technical program must complete either the MS-CPAS (Mississippi Career Planning and Assessment System) or an MGCCC Board- approved Technical Skills Attainment assessment where applicable. Students should see an advisor for further details.
