This instructional program will provide students with the required skills and expertise to be employable in the field of computer networking as computer networking technicians and/or network administrators. The required skill and expertise will be provided through course work in the design, telecommunications, installation, maintenance, network administration of client/server systems, and operation of computer networks. In addition, the Computer Networking Technology program offers a Computer Networking Technology Cloud Administration Option  as well as a Computer Networking Technology Gaming Surveillance Concentration .

The Computer Networking Technology: Internet of Things Option is a sequence of classes, resulting in a certificate, that can be added on to other programs. Students will identify standard business processes and security concerns when implementing IoT solutions, learn to install and configure various IoT devices and sensors to be used in both smart homes and commercial settings, develop and create working prototypes of IoT devices, and develop an IoT system.

This program leads to an Associate of Applied Science Degree and is preparatory for employment upon graduation from MGCCC. Where a transfer to four-year college or university is desired, a conference should be scheduled with an MGCCC advisor.

All students completing a career or technical program must complete an MGCCC Board-approved Technical Skills Attainment where applicable. Students should see an advisor for further details.
