The Accounting Technology program is designed to prepare students for employment opportunities in the accounting field. Software taught in this program includes the latest versions of Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks. This program prepares students for opportunities as an Accounts Receivable Clerk, Accounting Assistant, Billing Clerk, Bookkeeper, Payroll Clerk, Management Trainee, and Administrative Assistant.

The gaming management courses will focus on the unique characteristics of both the gaming and hospitality industries. Train for the unique accounting needs of the gaming industry with specialized classes in casino business strategy and financial accounting.

The gaming courses link to other programs that will lead to an Associate of Applied Science degree with a gaming concentration:  Administrative Office Technology, Accounting Technology, Business Management Technology, Hotel & Restaurant Management, Business and Marketing Management, and Computer Networking Technology.  This degree is designed to help students seek employment in entry level or supervisory gaming positions. For those currently employed, these programs will provide professional growth and career mobility within the gaming industry.

Where a transfer to four-year college or university is desired, a conference should be scheduled with an MGCCC advisor.

All students completing a career or technical program must complete an MGCCC Board-approved Technical Skills Attainment where applicable. Students should see an advisor for further details.

*Prior to enrollment in BOT 1233  students will be required to key straight-copy material at a minimum of 35 GWPM, on a five-minute timed writing with a maximum of one error per minute.  Students who do not demonstrate this level of proficiency will be required to enroll in BOT 1013  - Introduction to Keyboarding.
