(Perkinston Campus)
This instructional program will provide students with the required skills and expertise to be employable Information Technology (IT) Specialists to interface with IT hardware, communications, and online technology resources. The program prepares individuals to install, operate, maintain, service, and diagnose operational problems in hardwire or mobile IT systems arising from software, mechanical, or electrical malfunctions. Courses in the IT Specialist Technician program describe the IT circuits and mechanical devices used in IT construction and their combination into a total hardwire or mobile network system.
This curriculum leads to an Associate of Applied Science degree and is preparatory for employment upon graduation from the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. Where transfer to a senior college or university is desired, a conference should be scheduled with a community college counselor for advisement.
All students completing a career and technical program must complete either the MS-CPAS (Mississippi Career Planning and Assessment System) or a MGCCC Board approved Technical Attainment Assessment where applicable. See your advisor for further details.
