The Cosmetology program prepares individuals with the theory and skills to care for hair, nails, and skin, with an emphasis on hygiene, sanitation, customer relations, ethics, and salon management that are required to become a licensed cosmetologist. Students will receive instruction designed to comply with the standards of the Mississippi State Board of Cosmetology and practice techniques in a supervised salon setting.
This program leads to an Associate of Applied Science Degree and is preparatory for employment upon graduation from MGCCC. Where a transfer to four-year college or university is desired, a conference should be scheduled with an MGCCC advisor.
