Computer Networking Technology Gaming Surveillance Concentration

(Harrison County Campus)

Computer network professionals create and support networks to ensure they operate efficiently and securely. Because computer networks have become the backbone of every business, education, and government institution that uses computers, jobs in this area are plentiful. This program provides students with the required skills and expertise to become computer networking technicians and/or network administrators.

The gaming management courses will focus on the unique characteristics of both the gaming and hospitality industries. These courses will allow students to learn entry-level skills relating to gaming operations and provide them with the knowledge and attitudes needed to be an effective professional in the gaming industry.

The gaming courses link to other programs that will lead to an Associate of Applied Science degree with a gaming concentration:  Administrative Office Technology, Accounting Technology, Business Management Technology, Hotel & Restaurant Management, Business and Marketing Management, and Computer Networking Technology.  This degree is designed to help students seek employment in entry level or supervisory gaming positions. For those currently employed, these programs will provide professional growth and career mobility within the gaming industry.

Where a transfer to four-year college or university is desired, a conference should be scheduled with a MGCCC advisor.

All students completing a career or technical program must complete a MGCCC Board- approved Technical Skills Attainment where applicable. Students should see an advisor for further details.
