Courses of Instruction


The following courses are offered at MGCCC. Courses are identified by name and number.  Those numbered from 1001 to 1999 are considered freshman level courses, and those from 2001 to 2999 are sophomore level courses. 

The three numbers in parentheses after the description of each academic and technical course indicate the number of semester hour credit for the course, the number of lecture hours each week, and the number of laboratory or activity hours each week, respectively. Instructional hours are indicated for career and technical courses.

  • WLT 1313 - Cutting Processes

    This course is designed to give the student experience in oxyfuel cutting principles and practices, air carbon arc gouging and plasma arc cutting. Prerequisite: WLT 1173 . (3,1,4)
  
  • WLT 1915 - Special Problems in Welding and Cutting Technology


    Credit(s): 5

    This course is designed to provide students with the opportunity to utilize skills and knowledge gained in other Welding and Cutting Technology courses. The instructor and student work closely together to select a topic and establish criteria for completion of the project. (5,0,10)
  
  • WLT 2913 - Welding Code


    Credit(s): 3

    This course is designed to give the student experience in the various welding codes and the experience in interpretation of these codes. (3,3,0)
